My clients are families, youth, or individuals seeking to find relief and healing from painful circumstances and relationships, but desire to reconnect with their strengths, to reclaim their voice, purpose, self worth, and move toward functioning at their highest potential. Change and growth can often be uncomfortable and it is important to know that you don’t have to go through this alone. You may have come here because you are having a tough time with your adolescent. Everything you have tried just isn’t working and you need something to change because your family can’t keep going like this. Maybe you are an adult and you are feeling stuck, anxious, or depressed and you too need something to change. I am happy that you are here as I truly enjoy helping you, your teenager, and/or family find the changes you are looking for.
Peace in your home is possible and peace within yourself is possible. Let me partner with you to harness your potential and conquer the barriers between where you are now and where you want to be.
For the past 7 years I have worked with adolescents, families, and individuals dealing with a history of trauma, anxiety, self-harm behaviors, social difficulties, school problems, issues of defiance, life transitions, addiction, and co-parenting difficulties. I know that as a parent it can be painful to see your child face difficulties and feel overwhelmed to try and figure out how to help them.
My counseling style is warm, intuitive, and compassionate. I utilize a variety of counseling methods for each client’s personality and counseling needs. I use MDFT: Multidimensional Family Therapy, EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and strategic family therapy techniques, which emphasizes crafting a strategy for treatment, thinking in stages of therapy and of change and focusing on out-of-session tasks as a complement to in-session change enactments.
I have worked for various non-profit agencies, Safe Alternatives for Everyone (SAFE) at the Family Justice Center, Riverside University Health System, and South Bay Community services in Chula Vista.
